Privacy Maximizer is a program designed to increase the security and privacy of your computer. The application provides a solution to safeguard sensitive and personal information by clearing browsing history and traces, removing selected files permanently, and helping you protect financial data.
Privacy Maximizer works by scanning your hard drive to find information that could compromise your privacy. It looks for cookies, browsing history, recently viewed files, and chat logs on your Windows system files, internet folder, and installed software. Once the search is finished, it brings up a menu telling you how many privacy risks have been found. From here, you are given the option to delete any or all of the items.
You can also use Privacy Maximizer to securely remove sensitive data. The program’s Shred feature allows you to permanently delete one or more files without the possibility of recovery. This is done by rewriting the file contents multiple times before removing it from the computer, thus rendering the file corrupt.
One of the most interesting features of Privacy Maximizer can be found in the ID Protection tab. Here, you can let the program scan your entire computer for sensitive information like banking and credit card details. You can then store these files in the encrypted Document Vault so they won’t be accessed by hackers or unwanted users. Additional features include the option to create encrypted notes and a secure password manager.
Unfortunately, most of the program features are disabled in the trial version (it only scans your computer and displays the results) so it's impossible to know how reliable and efficient Privacy Maximizer is.
